“Α daughter decided it!”: Women in the Greek Revolution of 1821

Musical dance performance by the Lykeion ton Hellenidon of Pyrgos (Lyceum Club of Greek Women)

A special show that honors the 200 years of the Greek Revolution. A performance dedicated to the woman’s role during the revolution in 1821. Through texts of the time and selected folk songs and dances, the presence of women at all levels of social life and historical events of the period is highlighted: the woman as a mother, sister, husband, comrade in battle, fighter.
